Below are types of skin-related diseases linked to occupation:

  • Dermatitis – This is the most common form of an occupational skin related disease. Symptoms include itching and redness with skin that becomes raw and rough leading to cracked, broken and sore skin. Occupations linked to this are food processing, catering, cleaners and factory workers etc.
  • Occupational Acne – Can be caused by overexposure to oil, coal-tar, chloracne.
  • Pigmentary Disorders – Can be caused from exposure to hazardous agents such as UV, X-rays.
