Career

Prior to joining Morrish Solicitors I completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Leicester followed by Law Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Leeds Metropolitan University.

I joined the firm as a Trainee Solicitor in 2001 and have worked in the personal injury department ever since I qualified as a solicitor in 2003. I became a Partner in October 2017.

As a Partner and Personal Injury Lawyer my role is to recover compensation for those who have suffered injury. I deal with cases of all values up to and including million-pound settlements.

I specialise in all types of personal injury claims. This includes; Accidents at work; Injuries caused by animals (particularly those involving horses); Catastrophic injury; Fatalities; Medically recognised conditions caused by employment such as asbestos exposure, repetitive strain, vibration white finger, deafness, dermatitis, and respiratory disease; Occupational stress; Road traffic accidents whether as a driver, passenger, cyclist or pedestrian; Motorcycle accidents; Public liability including slipping, tripping or falling on the public highway; Occupier’s liability for accidents suffered on the premises of others.

Greatest Professional Achievement

The recovery of compensation for anyone who has suffered injury due to negligence, no matter how serious the injury or sizeable the financial loss, is something to celebrate.  However, a career highlight was recovering over £4 million for a client who suffered a serious leg injury at work and ended up having an elective amputation.  This is not just because of the amount recovered but the fact we were able to support him through his post injury treatment/rehabilitation and to obtain funding for the things he needed to regain the best quality of life possible, including the following:

  • Prosthetics care & provision for life
  • Specially adapted vehicle
  • Suitable accommodation (including conveyancing service for the purchase)
  • Re-training for a new career

Client Feedback

“I cannot praise highly enough the support and professionalism shown to myself during the process of the past 6 years on my case.”

“Great service, attentive and thoughtful.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for all your hard work, especially standing by me for the last few years. Also genuinely believing in me and sympathising with what I went through. Thank you.”

“You guys have been amazing and faultless. Will definitely be recommending your services to others in the future.”

Interests

In my spare time I enjoy being actively involved in sport. I played rugby for my local club and represented the Midlands as a student when at university.  My playing days are long gone but I still enjoy meeting up with friends and watching a game.  I still play football twice a week, one of which is in a competitive league and the other on a social basis with mates.

I am also a keen cyclist, having completed Land’s End to John O’Groats twice and toured Ireland.  There are a few of us here at Morrish Solicitors who enjoy cycling so we have formed an informal “club” and arrange a few rides each year and have also taken part in rides for charity, including the 2019 UCI World Championships Sportive held in Harrogate to raise money for the Leeds Cares, which is a charity supporting Leeds Hospitals.
