SSB Group Limited enters administration
We are sorry to now read reports that the Sheffield-based legal and financial group SSB Group Limited was placed into administration on 4 January, with insolvency firm FRP Advisory appointed to handle its affairs. This has resulted in over 200 jobs being lost.
Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:
- 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
- There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.
