Redundancies at Cook & Lucas Frozen (UK)

Up to 80 staff have lost their jobs at Grimsby-based Cook & Lucas Frozen (UK) after the firm went into administration earlier this month. The seafood processing and supply company closed its plant on 10 January, and Interpath Advisory were appointed joint administrators of the firm on 20 January 2023.

Making redundancies without consultation could give rise to claims for up to 90 days’ pay by way of a protective award.

When making more than 20 redundancies at one workplace, employers are under a duty to inform and consult with employee representatives. If they fail to do this, claims can be made for compensation. Our employment solicitors are experts in protective award claims and can assist on a no win no fee basis. This means legal fees aren’t payable unless a claim is successful.

Morrish Solicitors are national specialists in Protective Award claims. Our employment team have pursued a number of successful claims including Thomas CookBardsley Construction, Styles and WoodCity Link and Phones4u etc.

Contact our employment team on 033 3344 9603 or email [email protected] to discuss a potential claim.

Please note, there is no minimum length of service required to make a protective award claim.
