471 jobs lost across nightclub chains including Atik and Pryzm

We are sorry to now read reports that 471 jobs have been lost with the closure of 17 venues, after the collapse of nightclub operator Rekom UK Group Ltd. Administrators from Grant Thornton were appointed, but they were unable to save the 17 sites from closing. Included in the closures are several venues for the popular chains Attik and Pryzm, which were both part of the Rekom group.

Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
