45 staff made redundant as Cube Precision Engineering collapses into administration

We are sorry to read reports that the Rowley Regis-based engineering firm, Cube Precision Engineering Ltd, has entered administration and made 45 staff redundant. Administrators Jon Roden, Rob Parker and Helen Dale of Grant Thornton were appointed at the end of November and the company ceased trading.

Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
