150 jobs at risk as TXM Plant Ltd enters administration

We are sorry to read reports that the Wigan-based supplier of road-rail vehicles, TXM Plant Ltd, has entered administration putting 150 jobs at risk. Clare Boardman and Kristian Shuttleworth of Teneo Financial Advisory Limited have been appointed as Joint Administrators of TXM Plant Limited, Equipment and Track Solutions Limited and Bacchus Newco Limited, which managed infrastructure projects from seven depots across England.

Unfortunately, it is common for administrators to make immediate redundancies, without prior warning or any consultation process. A failure to follow a consultation process could lead to employees being able to claim compensation from an Employment Tribunal of up to 90 days’ pay. Such a claim could be pursued if:

  • 20 or more people were made redundant at the same workplace; and
  • There was no information and consultation process, or it wasn’t carried out correctly prior to making redundancies.

If you have been made redundant and need advice, contact our employment team confidentially now for more information.

There are strict Tribunal deadlines within which to pursue these claims, so you mustn’t delay if you believe you may be affected.
