Career

Prior to working for Morrish Solicitors, I worked for a criminal practice in Hertfordshire.

After joining Morrish Solicitors in 2005 as a Legal Assistant and going on to complete my training contract with the firm, I was admitted as a solicitor in 2008.

I am Partner and Head of the Employment Law department at Morrish Solicitors. As well as the active management of my team, my role involves helping individuals, trade unions and professional associations across all aspects of employment rights law. Expertise includes complex and high value discrimination claims, group litigation and protective awards, settlement agreements, unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, employment status, industrial action and trade union detriment claims, as well as union and association rules issues.

I have particular expertise in group litigation and protective awards. Over the years, I have secured compensation for thousands of individuals made redundant by household names such as Phones4u, Citylink, Poundworld and others, most recently securing the maximum award of 90 days’ pay for over 1200 former Thomas Cook employees, which has attracted much media attention.

I regularly deliver training to union and association clients, both online via webinar platforms and in person. I am also the co-author of the Institute of Employment Rights publication, “Social Media and the Law”.

Greatest Professional Achievement

Securing over £1m for 260 former City Link employees.

Interests

I love running around after my 2 little ones and spending time with my family, whether that be at home, in the Yorkshire countryside or Cornwall (my favourite place in the UK). When I get a chance, I play tennis and golf and enjoy watching all sports.
