QualitySolicitors Lindley Clough boosted by new legal network

A Bradford law firm has won hundreds of new clients through a pioneering initiative with a leading high street retailer to combat a threat to traditional high street law firms from new legislation which came into force today.

Legal firm Lindley Clough, part of the Quality Solicitors network, opened a legal access point manned by legal staff at WH Smith’s store in the Kirkgate Centre as part of a move to enable shoppers to access legal services when buying their newspapers, books and stationery.

Since the desk opened in August Lindley Clough has signed up 200 people for various legal services.

The partnership between the QualitySolicitors network, founded by Cleckheaton-born barrister Craig Holt, and WH Smith was launched in the light of the so-called ‘Tesco’s Law’ which allows non-lawyers to own law firms and is seen as the biggest ever shake-up of the UK legal profession.
