Career

I joined Morrish Solicitors in 2008 as a Legal Assistant and qualified as a Solicitor in 2011. I became an Associate in 2016 and was promoted to Partner in 2021. I have specialised exclusively in medical negligence for over 10 years and I am an accredited member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence panel.

I am a Partner and the Head of the Medical Negligence department at Morrish Solicitors.

Within my role I am responsible for day to day running of the medical negligence department as well as managing my own caseload. I deal with a wide range of serious and complex medical negligence matters including birth injuries such as Cerebral and Erb’s Palsy.

Morrish Solicitors holds a Legal Aid Agency Clinical Negligence Franchise, which allows us to apply for Legal Aid in claims for children who have suffered a neurological injury during pregnancy, birth or the first 8 weeks of life.

Greatest Professional Achievement

Being promoted to Partner and balancing the pressures and challenges of a demanding career whilst at the same time being a mum to a young family.

Recent settlements include:

  • I represented Sebastian who suffered a severe brain injury as a result of negligent treatment during his birth at Bradford Royal Infirmary. Sebastian was starved of oxygen for 17 minutes after staff failed to monitor his heart rate during birth.  He was born in a very poor condition and required immediate resuscitation. He was later diagnosed with grade 3 hypoxic ischemia encephalopathy (severe brain damage caused by lack of oxygen) resulting in four limb dyskinetic cerebral palsy at the most severe functional level.   Settlement for Sebastian in the sum of £4.2 million was finally agreed after a 7 year case.
  • I secured £325,000 damages for a client who suffered complete functional hearing loss, permanent tinnitus and vestibular dysfunction as a result of a negligently performed surgery to insert a T-tube into her left ear.
  • I secured £120,000 damages for the failure of an NHS Trust to appropriately treat cellulitis.  As a result of the negligence, the Claimant suffered progression of the infection and an abscess. He underwent an incision and drainage procedure resulting in significant scaring, hyperpigmentation and a subcutaneous nerve injury causing chronic neuropathic pain.
