Inspiration:
Climbing Mount Kenya. It was just after university and a friend and I had bivvied the night before under a rock. We started climbing at 5am up the ‘ice window route’ which is probably no longer climbable thanks to global warming. We climbed all day and reached the summit at about 6pm. Reaching the top was euphoric. Mount Kenya is the second highest summit on the African continent so in all directions we could see the Kenyan plains. It got dark around 7pm so we slept the night in a tin hut, and abseiled down the next day, arriving at our camp around 10pm. That was an inspirational moment.
